  13. For any one who might be having the same problem:

  15. Linux 0.9.13 worked fine on my system (A2000/Derringer030/GVP Series II). But
  16. all the 1.2.13plX versions are crashing on accessing my SCSI disk. I need
  17. 1.2.13 because of c++ and that is only available in ELF format, which requires
  18. 1.2.13.

  20. So I switched to NetBSD 1.1. And this worked fine from the start! Including the
  21. c++ environment.
  22.  
  23. But now I still have a few small questions:
  24. - Where do I get docu? I've searched but could find the same "library" as
  25.   linux has: HOW TO documents, etc.
  26.   The only thing I found were some install guides and FAQ's.
  27.   (So don't start responding with RTFM, please.)

  29. - Is ftp.uni-regensburg.de online? (Maybe my name server has a problem,
  30.   does anyone have an IP address?)

  32. - NetBSD 1.1 definetly slower than Linux on the same config. Probably it
  33.   is more IO bound and the disk I'm using is not very fast.
  34.   Any suggestions on how to speed up things?
  35.   (If like recompiling the kernel, what settings could I use best?)

  37. - NetBSD says in the boot screen that 2 mice and 10 views are configurated.
  38.   How do I access (switch between) these views? (See next question)
  39.   It is not the screen-utility. This works fine on the console.

  41. - When I start a getty on ttye1, etc, (ttye0 is the console) I get an
  42.   "device is not configured" error.
  43.   Are these ttyeX the views mentioned above?
  44.   How do I configure these ttyeX?

  46. If anyone can deliver me the locations of the docu, I can solve these questions
  47. myself.

  49. Oh yes, and ofcourse finally: why doesn't Linux 1.2.13plX run?
